The Institute is issuing a Call for Abstracts for oral and poster
presentations as part of the IHPL Tenth Anniversary celebration.
These presentations will provide opportunities to showcase successes,
priorities, and innovations in HIV prevention from fellows’
perspectives. Fellows may also describe the impact of their participation
in IHPL on their HIV prevention efforts.
Presentations should be submitted according to the following tracks:
Track 1: Adaptation of Evidence-Based HIV Prevention Interventions
(EBIs)
Examples:
• Translating EBI materials for non-English-speaking populations
• Adapting EBI administration from single sessions to retreats
Track 2: Innovations in HIV Prevention
Examples:
• Working with hard-to-reach priority populations
• Using new technologies for HIV prevention
Track 3: Organizational Development and Strategic Planning
in HIV Prevention
Examples:
• Identifying and securing diverse funding streams
• Building capacity for front-line HIV prevention staff
Track 4: Leadership in HIV Prevention
Examples:
• Using evaluation results to influence public policy
• Organizing community mobilization efforts
All presentations will be made on Saturday, August 22, 2009.
Abstracts will be selected by a peer review process. Abstract selection
will be based on significance, quality, originality, relevance,
and overall presentation.
The deadline for abstract submission is June 12, 2009.
Notification of accepted presentations will be made by June
29, 2009.
