Broad Impact

The CDC/ASPH Institute for HIV Prevention Leadership has worked diligently over the past decade to provide HIV prevention professionals with the tools they need to combat HIV in their communities. The Institute, a nonprofit organization, has trained hundreds HIV prevention program managers from CBOs located across the United States, including its territories, all at no cost to the participants or their organizations.

After completing the Institute, Fellows report increased confidence in their abilities to conduct effective prevention programs, and better success in obtaining additional funding for their organizations. Many Fellows have assumed greater leadership roles within their CBOs, while others have found great success in health departments and public office.
